Ruminate Reviewed

Check out this rave review of Ruminate's Issue 09 (scroll to the bottom of the page) from NewPages, one of the top literary magazine databases in the country.  The review begins by saying, "Ruminate's layout is beautiful." Not a bad comment to start things off, and something we happen to proudly agree with. And it keeps getting better from there, discussing the great work from our contributors and "pieces which demonstrate faith inside literature as well as faith in literature, a faith that literature can explain and inspire." We think NewPages reviewer Rachel King hit the nail on the head.

Rebuilding Paul Willis' Library

As some of you may have heard, Westmont College and the surrounding Santa Barbara, CA area were deeply impacted by last month's "Tea Fire." Numerous Westmont faculty members lost their homes in the fire including RUMINATE contributor and Westmont English department professor, Paul Willis. Paul has been a strong supporter of RUMINATE, advocating and standing alongside our publication from Issue 01. We extend our prayers to him and his family as they begin recovering from this terrible loss.

Rock and Sling Ceases Publication

For those of you who haven't heard, Rock and Sling, a journal that shares a very similar mission to RUMINATE, has had to cease publication because of a shortage of funds. Here at RUMINATE, this was very sad news and hit close to home. (Yes, there is many a day when our entirely volunteer staff isn't sure if we can keep going, or if the printing bills can be paid).
